Gandhinagar : 4976 crores have been allotted for women and child welfare department by Gujarat Government. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel participated in the state level celebration of International Women’s Day organised in Gandhinagar. He expressed his clear views that the state government has adopted a three-pronged approach of health-education-security for the holistic welfare of women. The State Government with a drastic increase of 42% has allotted Rs. 4976 crore to Women and Child Welfare Department in current year’s budget for the overall up-liftment of women. CM handed over Gujarat Mahila Vikas Puraskar for the year 2020-21 and 2021-22, certificates-shawl-monetary rewards to Anganwadi Workers and Helpers under Mata Yashoda Puraskar.He also handed over assistance cheques to the beneficiary women’s of Mahila Swavalamban Yojana and distributed total Rs. 1.10 lakh sanctioned assistance orders of Vahali Dikri Yojana. State Government is committed to make Gujarat nutrition rich through “Suposhit Mata- Swashth Bal Yojana” and has adopted a 1000 days care approach for pregnant and lactating mothers so the coming generation and mothers remain healthy and well nourished. Detailing in this regard, CM said that such women will be provided 1 kg of Toor dal, 2 kg of gram and 1 litre of oil free of cost every month for 1000 days.

On this occasion he also e-dedicated newly constructed Sakhi One Stop Centre built at a cost of Rs. 48.69 lakh, 72 Anganwadi built at a cost of Rs. 4.97 crore. Moreover, he virtually completed stone breaking ceremony of 23 Anganwadi which will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 2.61 crore. Minister of State for Women and Child Welfare Manisha Vakil conveyed International Women’s Day wishes to all the women present for the occasion. The state’s femininity is also committed to taking the lead in self-reliance and self-reliance in the service of building a self-reliant India.
