The Governor of Gujarat, Acharya Devvarta, on the occasion of Independence Day, sent his condolences to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country and wished all the citizens. On the eve of the 75th Independence Day, the Governor gave his best wishes to the citizens of the state on the occasion of Amrut Mahotsav at the ‘At Home’ held at Junagadh and said that the 15th August, the Independence Day is a day to express gratitude to the freedom fighters. He said that the land of Gujarat has given birth to great heroes like Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Patel and Shyamji Krishna Varma. Then in the 75th year of independence, all the citizens resolve to strengthen the unity, integrity, brotherhood and tolerance of the country. “When the country became independent, India experienced the tragedy of partition,” he said. We have to be committed to something that will not be repeated. Recalling the battle between the government of Junagadh and Sorath region, the Governor said that the manpower of Junagadh had started the war and rejected Junagadh’s connection with Pakistan and connected Junagadh with India. The Governor called upon all citizens to be committed to building the India of dreams of martyrs and great patriots. He said that in the 75th year of independence, the entire country is celebrating the nectar festival of independence. On this occasion, all the citizens should be committed to strengthen the spirit of unity, integrity, tolerance and brotherhood. The commitment shown by the collaboration of manpower including the warriors was exemplary. While the entire country is celebrating the nectar festival of independence under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi this year, the Governor also expressed his desire to achieve new heights of Gujarat development with the help of manpower under the leadership of Chief Minister Vijay Rupani.

The Governor said that 2 lakh farmers have joined in organic farming in Gujarat and added that natural agriculture is being promoted under the leadership of Chief Minister Vijay Rupani. In the program held in the auditorium at Krishi University, Junagadh, Governor Acharya Devvrat and Chief Minister Vijay Rupani sent their best wishes to all the self-recognized enlightened citizens on the occasion of Independence Day. On this occasion, the artists performed patriotic songs. All participated in the national anthem with protocol. Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, Anjaliben Rupani, Chief Secretary Anil Mukim, Mayor Dhirubhai Gohel as well as saints-mahantas, MPs, MLAs, freedom fighters, office bearers, senior officials, social elites were present on the occasion.
