Gandhinagar : Important step of the state government to provide Inter- Regional Air Service in the state. Civil Aviation Minister Purnesh Modi said that the state government has taken an important step to provide inter-regional air service in the state by promoting aviation and tourism in the state and providing streamlined air connectivity within the state by launching five new air services from Ahmedabad and Surat. Accordingly, for air services starting for Ahmedabad-Bhuj-Ahmedabad, Surat-Bhavnagar-Surat, Surat-Amreli-Surat, Surat-Rajkot-Surat, Surat-Ahmedabad-Surat, a maximum of Rs.3500 to Rs.5000 ticket rates are fixed. Minister Purnesh Modi added that under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, the state government has planned to start regional air connectivity to connect various tourist destinations as well as small towns with big cities to provide the fastest and economic transport facility to the citizens of the state. The Department of Aviation is constantly striving to provide better connectivity and facilities to the citizens of the state in the field of civil aviation and has decided to start under the state’s VGF scheme to connect the cities of Gujarat. In which 50 seater facility for Ahmedabad-Bhuj-Ahmedabad, 09 seater for Surat-Bhavnagar-Surat, 09 seater for Surat-Amreli-Surat, 09 seater for Surat-Rajkot-Surat and 09 seater for Surat-Ahmedabad-Surat will be made available.

He added that these flights would be launched at reasonable rates at more convenient times for the citizens. All these routes will provide air connectivity to Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. The state government plans to start air service to Tier-3 cities with Tier-4 cities in the near future. With this in mind, at present 10 airports and 20 routes will be operated in the state under the RCS-Flight Scheme and State Schemes of the Government of India. The ticket price under this service is Rs. 2,500 / – to Rs. 5,000 / -. Citizens of the state are invited to make the most of this service. The minister said the service would create jobs for locals at various airports and boost the local economy of various destinations and make travel easier and faster. It is also expected to boost the overall tourism efforts of the state as foreign tourists will be able to travel to more destinations well during their travel time. “Gujarat is a leading industrial state and leading industrialists and businessmen frequently travel from Ahmedabad to Surat, Rajkot, Amreli, Bhavnagar and Kutch. The presence of a regional airline will save them time and tourists will be able to complete their business on time in less time.
