Pre-Vibrant Gujarat Summit on Agro and Food Processing

Anand : New Era of co-operation will be beneficial to the farmers. Atmanirbhar Krishi is key to realise Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat. With this approach and PM’s directions to empower the Annadaatas, Government of India has launched a plethora of initiatives across various aspects of farming which will bring new era for farmers. Taking this forward, the Government of Gujarat, under the leadership of CM of Gujarat Bhupendra Patel and Agriculture Minister Raghavji Patel, has adopted a strategy to handhold the farmers to make farming sustainable and farmers successful. The motto is: Aatmanirbhar Gujarat for Aatmanirbhar Bharat. To deliberate on various aspects of the agriculture value chain and empower farmers with global knowledge and advanced technologies, the Government of Gujarat has organised a three-day summit –“Agro & Food Processing: Entering a new era of Cooperation”– from December 14 to 16, 2021 at the Anand Agricultural University Campus, Anand, as part of the pre-summit events in the run-up to the 10th edition of Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS) in January 2022. The summit will be an ideal platform for agriculturists, scientists, agri-entrepreneurs, and progressive farmers for knowledge sharing and networking. It will witness deliberations on the promotion and adoption of natural farming techniques, unlocking the potential of FPOs, and opportunities in Agri infrastructure and agro and food processing industry, among others.A strong proponent of Natural farming H.E. the Governor of Gujarat Acharya Devvrat and Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying Parshottam Rupala will inaugurate the summit on December 14. Raghavji Patel, Minister of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, and Cow-Breeding, Govt. of Gujarat, Jagdish Vishwakarma, Minister of State for Cottage Industries, Co-operation and Industries, Govt. of Gujarat, will grace the occasion, among a host of dignitaries.

The Government of Gujarat is promoting Natural farming extensively for its multifarious benefits: It is eco-friendly and cost effective, propels wellness and enhances quality of life. The entire value chain of natural farming- right from land use, inputs to quality, certification and marketing, is being delved upon in various seminars at the event. The 3 day summit covers 10 focussed themes across 15 knowledge sessions with 90+ speakers from esteemed national and international organisations. 300+ companies from across the globe will exhibit innovative agro solutions. Over 5000 farmers from across the country and officials representing 23 states will participate in the summit. The summit offers an excellent opportunity to get updated with the latest practices, schemes and technologies in the sector by participating in the sessions through online and on-the spot registrations. The Sports Ground of Anand Agriculture University will host the Exhibition from 14th Dec to 16th Dec’21. The exhibition will showcase technological innovations under the major themes of Natural Farming, Dairy and Food Processing. The demo cutting edge approach of nano fertilizer application by drones will be the centre of attraction. Central and State Government organisations in the sector will showcase their ongoing projects and schemes. Other exhibitors will include progressive farmers, FPOs, Agri Entrepreneurs, Dairy and Co-operatives and leading Institutions.
