Gandhinagar : Pre-inventive work will provide health protection, said health minister Rushikesh Patel. State Health Minister Rushikesh Patel said that he was confident that the students of IIPHG would provide health protection to the society through pre-inventive activities. Inaugurating the AICES-2021 three-day conclave at the Indian Institute of Public Health, Gandhinagar today, Minister Patel said that the then Chief Minister and Prime Minister Narendra Modi had initiated the country’s first institute IIPHG in Gandhinagar with the objective of diagnosing and treating diseases through innovative research in the health sector and social awareness. It is a matter of great concern to us that the organization which performed Bhumi Pujan in the year 2009 has grown today and is doing unparalleled work in the field of Pre-Inventive and Community Based Treatment. Patel added that the efforts being made by the organization to realize the Prime Minister’s dream of protecting the citizens against the challenges of new diseases in the years to come are commendable. Not only this, work is also being done to train health workers of all cadres including doctors. As a result, I am confident that together we will make our citizens more secure. Minister Patel said that a statewide Niramaya Gujarat Abhiyan has been launched under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel to make the citizens of the state more and more safe. The organization is also cooperating in this campaign which is providing free treatment to the needy by conducting screening of citizens at sub centers, primary health centers, community health centers which is getting wide public response. He added that in the future too, we will have to make a concerted effort in this field by thinking carefully about non-communicable diseases and diseases caused by lifestyle. He urged the students and trained personnel of the institute to conduct research in the field of challenges of the time to come and to commit to building a new India.
Dr. Dilip Mavalankar, Director, Indian Institute of Public Health, Gandhinagar, in his welcome address, explained the purpose of the three-day conclave. He gave a detailed account of the courses and training conducted at the only institute in the country. The institute has also imparted training to more than 2000 CHOs and AYUSH doctors working at the Community Health Center of the State Government. Efforts are also being made to create awareness among the citizens against the covid pandemic, he added. Professors, experts, specialists and students of Indian Institute of Public Health Gandhinagar were present on the occasion. The three-day conclave will feature discussion sessions by various subject matter experts.
