Driving Growth, Powering India was the focus point in the Annual Meeting of CII Gujarat

Ahmedabad : The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Gujarat successfully hosted its Annual Meeting 2025 under the theme “Viksit Gujarat: Powering a Prosperous India.” The event saw the esteemed presence of Chief Minister of Gujarat, Bhupendra Patel, along with top government officials, policymakers, and industry leaders.

The high-profile event underscored Gujarat’s critical role in India’s economic transformation as the state continues to be a leader in industrial development, infrastructure expansion, and sustainable growth.

In his inaugural address, Bhupendra Patel outlined Gujarat’s vision for industrial transformation, green energy adoption, and policy reforms that would solidify its leadership in India’s journey toward becoming a global powerhouse by 2047.

Green energy is the future of industries, and Gujarat is committed to leading this transformation. Our government is focused on integrating sustainable energy solutions to enhance global competitiveness,” he stated.

He further emphasized a collaborative approach between the government and industry, ensuring inclusive and sustainable growth aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for Viksit Bharat@2047.

The event kicked off with a Welcome Address by Kulin Lalbhai, Chairman, CII Gujarat State Council & Vice Chairman, Arvind Ltd. He reiterated Gujarat’s strong industrial base, progressive policies, and strategic location, making it a global investment hub.

Swati Salgaocar, Chairperson, CII Western Region, highlighted the state’s progress in key economic initiatives such as GIFT City, Dholera SIR, and PM MITRA Park.

1. GIFT City – Transforming India’s Financial Market

A special address by Nilesh Shah, MD, Kotak Mahindra Asset Management Co. Ltd., explored GIFT City’s role in positioning India as a global financial hub. He emphasized the need for investment in digitalization, green transformation, and financial prudence to sustain India’s rapid economic growth.

2. Emerging Sectors Driving Gujarat’s Future

A panel discussion featuring Dr. Pratul Shroff (eInfochips), Mr. Chintan Shah (ReNew Power), and Capt. Ishver Dholakiya (Goldi Solar Pvt Ltd.) focused on Gujarat’s leadership in AI, electric mobility, renewable energy, and fintech.

3. Healthcare Horizons – Pharma & Innovation

In a fireside chat, ankaj Patel, Chairman, Zydus Lifesciences Ltd., highlighted Gujarat’s potential in pharmaceutical innovation, affordable healthcare, and drug manufacturing.

4. Strengthening Gujarat’s Manufacturing Sector

Industry veterans, including Mamta Verma (IAS), Dr. Sharvil Patel (Zydus Lifesciences), and Maulik Mehta (Deepak Nitrite Ltd.), discussed technology-driven manufacturing, sustainability, and global competitiveness.

5. Sustainable Urban Development & Infrastructure

With a focus on green construction, smart city solutions, and renewable energy integration, top urban development leaders, including Banchhanidhi Pani (IAS) and Shekhar Patel (Ganesh Housing), deliberated on policy frameworks that balance economic progress with environmental sustainability.

The CII Gujarat Annual Meeting 2025 reinforced the state’s position as an economic powerhouse, driving investments, industrial expansion, and innovation-led growth. With a vision aligned with Viksit Bharat@2047, Gujarat continues to pave the way for India’s global economic leadership.
