Gandhinagar : AMRUT 2.0 has been successfully implemented in the state. The Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation, AMRUT 2.0, which was implemented with the inspiration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is being successfully implemented widely in the state. Accordingly, the Gujarat Urban Development Mission GUDM has sanctioned a total of Rs 134 crore 91 lakh for various development works including Rs 91.92 crore for water supply projects in 12 municipalities of the state. These works have been approved in the recent meeting of the State Level Technical Committee of the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation Amrut-2.0 project, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the aim of providing clean drinking water through taps to every home in the cities of the country. 91.92 crores for water supply projects, 33.58 crores for lake renovation and 8.87 crores for 1 underground drainage project and 54 lakhs for park projects have been approved by GUDM in this meeting. In the budget of the year 2023-24 under the direction of Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, the state government has ensured provision of 1454 crores for water supply, sewerage system, rainwater drainage and development of lakes etc. under AMRUT 2.0.

These financial provisions of the budget will give new impetus to the development works approved in this State Level Technical Committee meeting of GUDM. 15.58 crore for Rajula municipality, 15.61 for Thasara municipality, 5.05 for Bardoli municipality, 31.15 for Vapi municipality, 5.49 for Savli municipality, 19.04 crore for Boriavi municipality among the 12 municipalities sanctioned by GUDM for water supply projects. With the approval of the water supply project given to these 6 municipalities, the current population of 6.5 lakh and the future population of approximately 10 lakh will be benefited. Not only this, new 14890 connections will also be provided. A total of 33.58 crore projects of renovation of lakes of Dwarka, Godhra, Bharuch and Mehsana have been approved in this meeting of GUDM. These approved 4 water body rejuvenation projects will rejuvenate the lakes with a total area of 1.30 lakh square meters. The sewage discharged into the ponds will be properly diverted and taken to the treatment plant. 8.87 crore underground sewerage scheme projects of Valsad Municipality will also be covered under the project as a result of the approval received in SLTC meeting of GUDM. A population of 9410 people of Valsad town will benefit from this underground sewerage scheme and 1570 new connections will also be provided.
