Gandhinagar : Bhashini is an easy access to the internet and digital services. Under Digital India, various services are being made available to the common citizens of India at home. Recently, on the occasion of the inauguration of “Digital India” Week-2022, various digital applications were dedicated to the country by the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi from Gandhinagar, one of which is Bhashini. The aim of Bhashini is to give all Indians easy access to internet and digital services in their own local language and to increase content in Indian languages. The speech also includes Hindi and English in a total of 22 constitutional Indian languages, including Gujarati, out of which work on 11 languages ​​has been completed, while work on the remaining 11 languages ​​is in progress. Language donation is needed to increase the scope of speech and that is why Prime Minister Narendra Modi has encouraged citizens to donate language on www.bhashini.gov.in. Language can be translated by writing, speaking, watching and listening on the speaker’s website. The entire data will be collected through the donation of languages ​​and delivered to the citizens through the app. Manoj Kumar of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology said that the ministry has developed an experimental application called ‘Bhashaverce’ on which the data collected through experiments will be researched and developed to create Artificial Intelligence-AI models which will be very useful for startups and industries.

In addition, reputed educational institutes of the country including IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, IIT Hyderabad, JNU, Delhi University, CIDEC-Pune and Kolkata are also working to create AI models. Out of which IIT Bombay has played a leading role and is currently working on two special projects. Ishaan and Vidyapati in which English-Assamese, Bodo, Manipuri, Nepali, Hindi-Manipuri etc. are being translated. The vision of the Speech application is to digitally empower and digitalize language technologies, self-reliant India to enable diverse ecosystems of partner organizations and citizens, contributing to the elimination of language barriers. By creating language datasets and AI technology to develop language technology solutions, Bhashini will enable a more inclusive future for all Indians. Easy access to the Internet, information, services and apps in their own language, including voice access. In addition, videos, audios and documents made in Indian language can be found, viewed and listened to in their own language. As a result, services in various fields such as health care, engineering and law will be given more priority and innovative vocabulary in the local language will also increase. Communicating in their own language with other Indian speakers, children will also get digital education in their mother tongue. Thus, with the launch of ‘Digital India’, the first government-financial service available at home under the guidance of the Prime Minister since 2014, now with the increase in communication and understanding in various local languages ​​of India, the languages ​​of other states can be easily understood.
