Gandhinagar : Taking into consideration the rising number of COVID-19 cases in mega cities, Chief Minister of the state Vijay Rupani held a meeting with the Mayors, Municipal Commissioners and Chairmen of standing committee to assess the situation and provide necessary guidance for the path ahead. The CM instructed for complete scanning and surveillance of people in  COVID-19 hotpots in mega cities. He also advised for providing home delivery of essential items in such areas in order to prevent crowding of people. CM Rupani also instructed the officers and members to encourage more and more people to download the ‘Aarogya Setu’ application developed by the Government of India. The application is useful in providing firsthand details to the user in case he/she comes in contact with a COVID-19 affected person/area. Mobile clinics should visit all the possible areas in the city and provide necessary medical treatment to those who need it. He also instructed the officers to take stringent actions against all those who attack the medical staff and health workers. The CM said that the Municipalities should set up a centralised system of food distribution  for the helpless and aged living alone, labourers. At present, it is being done through voluntary organizations and NGOs. Chief Principal Secretary to the CM K Kailashnathan, ACS of Department of Urban Development Mukesh Puri, and P.S to CM Mr.Manoj Das were present during the video conference.
