Ahmedabad : Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on the occasion of World Environment Day inaugurates a program of distribution of 5 lakh saplings of holy basil (Tulsi) organized by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation through video conference. Addressing the video conference at Mangalmurti Apartment in Naranpura of Ahmedabad, CM Rupani said that the world, country, state and especially Ahmedabad is fighting against corona. While no cure for this virus has been found yet, it becomes necessary to boost our immune system with ayurvedic remedies. He pressured to boost the immune power of an individual to fight against the virus. Due to specific circumstance we are celebrating this event in a special way maintaining social distancing. World Environment Day is celebrated around the world on the 5th of June every year. This year’s theme is ‘Biodiversity’. Rupani said that at a time when the whole world is facing the challenges of the environment, there is an urgent need to maintain the balance between pollution and the environment. Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has been struggling against the transition of CORONA with multi-pronged measures like Dhanvantari Rath, Ayurvedic infusions; distribution of homeopathic medicines, the distribution of saplings of basil is right job at right time. Distribution Tulsi plants to the societies or flats in Ahmedabad where it is not possible to grow Tulsi would be useful for the people living there. As the lockdown has opened we all need to take special cares and everyone will have to act as a corona warrior. Vijay Rupani also lauded the various steps taken by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation in the fight againsts COVID-19. On the occasion Ahmedabad Mayor Bijal Patel said that, tulsi is considered as sacred in Ayurveda, at that time 5 lakh plants will be distributed in covid affected areas and then in other areas of Ahmedabad. On the occasion Deputy Mayor Dinesh Makwana and Chairman of the Standing Committee Amul Bhatt distributed the plants to local people.
