Gandhinagar : Govt. employees and pensioners will get arrears of dearness Allowance. Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel has said that the state government had decided to give 5% dearness allowance to more than 09 lakh 61 thousand officers / employees and pensioners of the state government from 01.07.2019. This dearness allowance is being paid with salary every month from January 2020 to Govt. employees. It was decided to pay the difference of the total allowance of 3 months from 01.07.2019 to 31.12.2019 to the state employees and pensioners. Out of this, the amount was paid from July 2019 to September 2019 and the remaining arrears of three months dearness allowance from October 2019 to December 2019 were due. It has decided to pay the arrears along with the August salary. Patel added that after consultation with the Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, the officers / employees / pensioners have been decided by the State Government to pay the difference of the outstanding dearness allowance. Benefiting from the 7th pay commission, the officers / employees / pensioners of the state government and the panchayat will be paid the arrears of these three months dearness allowance from October 2019 to December 2019 along with the salary for the month of August. Due to this payment, the state government will have to bear an additional burden of about Rs 464 crore. A total of 5,11,139 state government employees and 4,50,509 pensioners will get the benefit
