Gandhinagar : In the wake of prevailing global situation arising coronavirus, Gujarat Government took several important decisions as preventive steps at a high level meeting here presided over by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel. They are: The five major Yatra Dhams (pilgrims’ centres) at Ambaji, Dwarka, Somnath, Dakor and Pavagadh temples will be completely closed for devotees from March 20, 2020. However, the Puja and other rituals will take place as routine.All competitive tests for government jobs in different cadres scheduled to be held up to March 31, 2020 have been postponed and will be held after April 14, 2020.The GUJCET examination scheduled to be held on March 30, 2020 has been postponed and will be held after April 14, 2020.The State Road Transport Corporation has suspended passenger bus services to routes to Maharashtra to check spread of the virus through passengers coming from other states.All passengers in private buses coming from other states will be screened at the 16 interstate check posts on Gujarat border.The meeting observed that the preventive steps taken by the state government so far were fairly effective in controlling the spread of the virus, but need to be more careful, hence more steps.Others present at the meeting included Chief Minister Anil Mukim, Chief Minister’s Chief Principal Secretary K. Kailashnathan, Principal Secretary M.K. Das, Principal Secretary for General Administration Department Kamal Dayani, Chief Minister’s Secretary Ashwini Kumar.
