Gandhinagar: Gujarat is all set against the cyclone Tauktae, said chief minister Vijay Rupani. Chief Minister Vijay Rupani held a high-level meeting in Gandhinagar today to take a look at the current state of possible cyclone in Gujarat and the state government’s readiness to deal with it. The Chief Minister directed the entire administration to be prepared on a war footing and plan ahead to deal with the impending disaster as the coastal districts of the state are facing the threat of this potential cyclone. The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani. Giving details of the meeting, the Chief Minister said that the Indian Meteorological Department from the control room of the Emergency Operations Center of the state government was in constant touch with the meteorologists and appropriate arrangements were being made to keep an eye on the movement of this possible cyclone in Gujarat.

The Chief Minister said that Gujarat is all set against the cyclone and special instructions have been issued to the district administration to ensure that not a single death is caused by a possible cyclone in the state with the concept of ‘Zero’ Casualty. Vijay Rupani said that the entire administration has already been alerted to the possible impact of the cyclone in Kutch, Dwarka, Gir Somnath, Porbandar, Amreli, Junagadh, and Jamnagar districts and he himself has talked on the phone with the district collectors to discuss the situation in his district. And details of advance planning done by the district administration. “In view of the prevailing situation of Covid-19, special arrangements have been made for the critical patients undergoing treatment in government and private Covid hospitals in the coastal districts of the state where the cyclone may affect. Not only that, he has urged the collectors of this district to maintain the supply of oxygen and other necessary treatment arrangements in such circumstances, ”said the Chief Minister. Chief Minister Vijay Rupani made it clear in the meeting that in the current situation of covid-19, there is no hindrance in the treatment of covid patients and infected people and we have planned to face this potential cyclone situation with determination. The Chief Minister said that in all the hospitals in the state, DG Instructions have been given to keep the set ready so that even if the power supply is disrupted, the patients of corona will not face any problem in the treatment. He said that the state government should maintain a communication network, roads, and power supply, and if the trees are affected by falling or otherwise affected in this potential cyclone, they can be quickly rehabilitated and the supply of other essential Items including oxygen should be disrupted. A Rapid Response Team has been formed in each district urging the building, forest department.
