Ahmedabad : An NGO which believes in the extentive potential of youth in driving India’s overall development. Through its various initiatives, YES Foundation actively promotes Responsible Youth Citizenship by using innovative application of media interventions. Under this initiative, YES foundation had organized two months of extensive internship program in 5 cities Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Pune, Delhi and Bengaluru.
The name of such initiative was ‘Media for Social Change’. It was launched in the year 2016 in association with ISDI. This prestigious fellowship program develops socially conscious youth leadership and amplifies communication of social impact organisations.
Students from various universities and colleges of India were selected by the committee of such organization. After their selection, they were placed in various NGOs for the internship for two months. Students who were placed in various NGOs, worked in different areas. The areas like Content Writing, Photography/Film Making and Social Media. For that students got intensive training and industry experts external mentors guided them in their internship journey. YES foundation had appointed external mentors and they were experienced media professionals of Gujarat. Dr. Ashwin Chauhan, Mr. Aalap Brahmbhatt, Mr. Vijay Bhartiya, Ms. Mayurika Anil, Miss Ishani Parikh and Mr. Jeet Dholakia were the external mentors for this internship program.
Today, on 28th June, convocation was held at AMA, Ahmedabad and fellow designates got their final certificate in the presence of dignitaries form YES foundation and dignitaries were also present from other fields. NGO mentors were also present in this event.
The Gujarat Co-ordinator of YES Foundation, Mrs. Vandana Pandya said, “The main objective of this internship program is to develop inner skills of the students and they try to learn and understand the work which is done at grassroot level”. She also added that the other objective of such initiative is, to enhance youth leadership in development sector.
