Gandhinagar : Mobiles will not be allowed in the polling booths in the second phase of voting on 5th December,2022. In the second phase of the Gujarat assembly elections, 93 assembly constituencies in 14 districts, voting will be held on Monday, December 5. Chief Electoral Officer P. Bharti made a special appeal to the voters and said that the voting time is from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. No voter shall carry a mobiles into the polling booth. Voter Information Slip i.e. voter slip is for polling booth information only, the slip will not be accepted as an identity document for voting. Chief Electoral Officer P. Bharti specially made the voters aware that, on 5th December also polling time is from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. During the first phase of polling, there was confusion among the voters regarding the voting time period in some areas. In order to that this does not happen and every conscious citizen can vote on time, it is necessary to note that the voting time is from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. P. Bharti clarified that it is prohibited to carry mobile phones inside the polling station, so it will not be possible to show the identity documents saved in the mobile phone to the officials-employees on duty in the polling station. She appealed to the voters to carry the required identity proof with them. During the first phase, the election system has come to the knowledge that some voters went to vote with the Voter Information Slip they received as an identification document. Voter Information Sleep is for the information of voters’ booths. It is not an identity document. Chief Electoral Officer P. Bharti appealed to all the voters and said that every voter can easily cast their vote by carrying a valid identity document such as voter photo ID, Aadhaar card, driving license, PAN card, Indian passport or any other 12 types of valid identity documents.
