Gandhinagar : Natural farming is the demand of today’s time, said governor Acharya Devvrat. Governor of Gujarat Acharya Devvrat told farmers to adopt natural farming in the event organized by District Co-operative Bank Ltd, Ahmedabad. The Governor said that natural farming is the need of the today’s time for the protection of nature and for the prosperity of the farmers. More than one lakh farmers are connected with Ahmedabad District Co-operative Bank Ltd. A natural farming training workshop was organized by the bank for the farmers of three talukas namely Daskaroi, Gandhinagar and Dehgam from the area of ​​work of the bank. Addressing the farmers present at the training workshop, the Governor said that the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi and Union Minister for Home and Co-operation Amita Shah have been working tirelessly for the prosperity of farmers across the country. He urged the farmers to adopt natural farming by getting rid of the bad effects of chemical agriculture with the determination to make farmers and agriculture self-reliant. The Governor said that due to indiscriminate use of fertilizers and pesticides in chemical farming, arable land is losing its fertility. Not only this, water and environment are also polluted. Due to the mixing of chemicals in food grains, people are suffering from incurable diseases like cancer, diabetes and heart disease. The cost of farming is increasing and production is declining day by day, so that the economic condition of the farmers is deteriorating.

The Governor pointed out the usefulness of Jivamrut and Ghanjivmrut made from native cow dung and cow urine and explained the importance of Bijamrut, Jivamrut-Ghanjivamrut, mantle and Vapsa of it. He said that this method promotes the growth of friendly organisms like earthworms and in addition increases the fertility of the soil. Natural farming saves about fifty percent of water. The Governor also requested the farmers present to become master trainers through training and motivate other farmers for natural farming. In this training workshop, Dixit Patel from Subhash Palekar Prakritik Krishi, Gujarat, gave training to the farmers on natural farming. On this occasion Ahmedabad District Co-op.
