Ahmedabad : New Civil treats patients with 49,000 Litres oxygen tank. The number of patients has increased significantly due to the increasing number of corona infections in the city. The Civil hospital is making strenuous efforts to ensure adequate supply of oxygen to the patients admitted in the new Civil Hospital. More than 1,200 patients admitted to civil hospitals are in need of oxygen. Previously, five tons of oxygen was needed every day. Today, due to the increase in the number of patients, about 55 to 60 tons of oxygen is being consumed every day. An estimated 550 tons of oxygen has been consumed in the last ten days. Modern tanks have been installed in phases to meet the oxygen requirement in the new civil hospital. In the old building and Kidney Hospital, 13,000-13,000 liter tanks have been installed while in the Stem Cell Covid Building, in addition to 17,000 ltrs tanks, an additional 6,000 tank capacity oxygen tank has been installed. Thus, corona patients are being treated with a total capacity of 49,000 liters of oxygen tanks. Adequate treatment of coronary artery disease has been made possible by the availability of adequate amounts of liquid oxygen tanks and floss oxygen. In addition to liquid oxygen, patients are consuming 300 to 400 oxygen bottles daily in ambulances, shifting from one place to another. Covid-19 patients admitted to Civil are no longer short of oxygen. The hospital system is equipped to provide adequate oxygen to the beds of the infected patients of each corona as required. Intensive treatment of critically ill patients due to oxygen facility is helping them to recover faster. Oxygen can be stored for a longer period of time as storage capacity increases. Currently all tanks are refilled an average of twice a day.
Oxygen tanks also have a vaporizer with a high capacity oxygen tank. Oxygen is supplied in two ways. One in liquid form and the other in gaseous form. Oxygen cannot be used directly as it is in liquid form, but after being converted to gaseous form through a vaporizer machine, it is supplied to every ward of covid Hospital through pipeline for the treatment of infected corona patients. The liquid in the tank has a temperature of oxygen (-17 સે C). Which needs to be brought to the patient’s room temperature at 30 to 35 degrees, during this process the ice freezes on the pipeline, for which also vaporizer is used.
