Gujarat News : One more git by prime minister to Gujarat state. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel heartily thanked the Prime Minister and the Union Cabinet for the approval given by the Central Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for setting up of WHO Global Centre for Traditional Medicine in Jamnagar, Gujarat. The WHO Global Centre for Traditional Medicine will be set up in Jamnagar under the Ministry of AYUSH which will be the first and only global centre for traditional medicine across the world. Established in Jamnagar, the centre will be useful in ensuring the quality, safety and efficiency, accessibility and rational use of traditional medicines. WHO GCTM will provide leadership on all global health issues related to traditional medicine as well as will support member countries in formulating various policies related to traditional medicine research, practices and public health. PM had earlier on 13th November 2020 given a gift to Gujarat in the field of health by declaring the Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda (ITRA) in Jamnagar as an Institute of Natural Importance of National Importance. The Chief Minister said that now with this new gift of WHO GCTM, the Prime Minister has opened a new direction of Gujarat’s leadership in the field of public health and well-being.
