Ahmedabad : The problem of water in the state of Gujarat is getting worse. The serious impact of which is in Kutch, Saurashtra and North Gujarat. Looking at Gujarat Water Resources Statistics, 177 reservoirs from the total 203 reservoirs of the state have less than 25% water storage. There are 70 to 100 percent water storage in 25 reservoirs, 25 to 50 percent in 19 reservoirs, 50 to 70 percent in 5 reservoirs and 2 reservoirs. Thus, 20.65% of the total storage of water storage capacity of 203 reservoirs. So now 6.50 crore people of Gujarat have only 20% water storage for one month. Sardar Sarovar Dam has 51.65% water collection, now Narmada will be the only life line for the poeple of Gujarat.



Due to water problem, Kutch and Banaskantha have become dry. The Chief Minister has also publicly acknowledged the hardships of getting water. Vijay Rupani said, "There is a plan for drinking water shortage across the state. The chief minister said about the planning that Sardar Sarovar Dam is having sufficient amount of water in Narmada and it will be delivered to the distant areas of Kutch and Banaskantha.
