Ahmedabad : Polling for 26 seats in Gujarat states, was concluded on Tuesday for the third and largest phase of Lok Sabha elections. 58 per cent voting was done till 5 pm. During the voting today, several booths had complaints of malfunction in EVMs.
BJP president Amit Shah, Congress president Rahul Gandhi and many Union ministers will decide the fate in this phase. When voting started in the morning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi cast his vote in a booth in Ahmedabad and said that the voter ID is more powerful than the IED of the terrorists.
BJP President Amit Shah is contesting from Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency. He also cast his vote in a booth in Ahmedabad. Apart from all the seats of Gujarat (26) and Kerala (20), 14-14 of Karnataka and Maharashtra, four in Assam, five in Bihar, seven in Chhattisgarh, six in Odisha, 10 in Uttar Pradesh, five from West Bengal, Goa Two seats and one each in Dadar and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu and Tripura were voted.
Gujarat had a very low percentage of voting and because of hot temperature, people didn’t came out to cast their vote in Gujarat. This time very less voting recorded in City area and higher percentage of voting recorded in rural areas of Gujarat.
