Gandhinagar : TanaRiri festival launched by CM vijay Rupani from Gandhinagar. Inaugurating the Tanariri Mahotsav 2020, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said that Gujarat has established a tradition of being at the forefront not only in infrastructure, industrial development or agricultural development but also in the fields of arts, literature, music and sports. The Chief Minister inaugurated the Tanariri Mahotsav at Vadnagar in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel, Minister of State for Sports, Youth and Cultural Activities Ishwar Patel via video conference from Gandhinagar. He also inaugurated the Tanariri College of Performing Arts on this occasion. The Chief Minister said that the Tanariri Festival has become an unprecedented attraction for expert musicians and music lovers. Not only in India but also in the country and abroad, its fame has spread and this festival has also found a place in the Guinness Book of World Records, it is a matter of pride especially for Gujarat.

Vijay Rupani said that Kala Mahakumbh has been organized in Gujarat to give a huge platform to the talents in the field of art, literature and music and has given an opportunity to lots of people. He said that the present Prime Minister of Gujarat Narendra Modi has started this Tanariri Mahotsav from the year 2007 and immortalized the present generation by exposing the history of music and singing of Adhyakavi Narsinh Mehta’s grand daughters Tana and Riri to the present generation.

From the year 2010, Narendra Modi started the initiative of honoring the famous women singers of the country and Gujarat with Tanariri Award and we have maintained it digitally even during this transition period of Corona. The Chief Minister said that along with art-literature-music in the state, we also give honors in the fields of drama, painting, photography and sculpture by the Sangeet Natak Academy. He also said that we are organizing various festivals for the state’s pilgrimage sites of Somnath, Dwarka, Dakor, Ambaji, Shamlaji, Unai, Chotila, Khodiyar and Shukaltirth. We have made the heritage brighter and further encourage the creative power that God has given to the artists. The Chief Minister presented awards to well-known singers Padma shri Anuradha Paudwal and Ms. Varshaben Trivedi under Tanariri Award-2020.
