Gandhinagar : Youth Model Assembly organized at Gujarat Legislative Assembly. Speaker of Gujarat Legislative Assembly Dr. Nima Acharya said that as the country marches ahead to be the ‘Vishwaguru’, it is necessary to understand the parliamentary system to strengthen the democracy with the purpose to fulfill the expectations and aspirations of the people, and for the quick resolution of the problems of different communities of the society. In order to increase the participation of the youth in the development process of the country and provide good governance to this country in the future, it is necessary to organize programs like ‘Youth Model Assembly’ and train them in the political field. This Youth Model Assembly will prove to be a unique medium to inspire students to become good leaders of the future. ‘Youth Model Assembly’ was organized at the Gujarat Legislative Assembly as part of the celebration of 100 years of Akhil Bhartiya Pramukh Adhikarii Parishad and the diamond jubilee year of India’s independence. This was organized under the joint initiative of Gujarat Legislative Assembly’s Ganesh Vasudev Mavalankar Parliamentary Studies and Training Bureau and The School Post. Expressing confidence in the youth, the speaker said that through this initiative, the youth of the state will become competent, experienced and patriotic, develop leadership among the youth and provide direct training in democracy. She said that India is the country with the largest number of youth. Out of 360 crore youth in the world, 60 crore youth are in India. Expressing confidence that the youth will become a strong base in the country, the Prime Minister has taken various revolutionary youth-oriented decisions including the new education policy.

She added that the ‘Youth Model Assembly’ is a unique platform which will provide a golden opportunity to the young students to get exposed to the parliamentary procedures and systems. Organization of ‘Youth Model Assembly’ will prove important for students to develop leadership qualities, students to understand, express common man’s point of view and become aware of plans for public welfare, process of doing various development works including parliamentary system, budget, law making process, etc. Addressing the ‘Yuva Model Assembly’, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given many opportunities to the youth to be established as ‘New Age Power’, which has been seen as ‘New Age Voter’ for years. He added that visionary leader Narendra Modi has initiated the building of a new India on the basis of youth power. The Chief Minister further said that the youths selected from various districts are getting the experience of performing the duty of public representative by forming a mock assembly. In a democracy the voter is the basic unit, while the people’s representative is the most important unit. It is the duty of the representative elected by the electorate to be always active in the development of the constituency and solving the problems of the people. The Chief Minister said that political democracy cannot survive without a strong foundation of social democracy. Social democracy can be founded on the values ​​of equality, liberty and fraternity. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has marked the way to achieve social democracy along with political democracy. The ‘Yuva Model Assembly’ will convey the message of political democracy to social democracy, he added.

The Chief Minister said that Gujarat is the growth engine of the country. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gujarat has become a model state of the country. The exemplary functioning of the Legislative Assembly has played a pivotal role in the development journey of Gujarat in the last two and half decades. He added that it is a great honour to see the youth who are the builders of Gujarat’s bright future, participating in a model assembly in this sacred premise of the legislative assembly house. He further said that the country is celebrating Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is a great coincidence that theYouth Model Assembly is being orgazined at the Gujarat Assembly House during this Amrut Mahotsav year. He also expressed confidence that, the youth will take forward the democratic traditions of Gujarat together. On the occasion of the inauguration of the ‘Youth Model Assembly’ held at the Gujarat Legislative Assembly, Parliamentary Minister Rajendra Trivedi, Minister of Youth and Cultural Activities Department Harsh Sanghavi, Chief Whip of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly Pankaj Desai, Deputy Leader of the Opposition in the Gujarat Legislative Assembly Shailesh Parmar, Cabinet members, former ministers, MLAs, teachers, students and parents were present.
