Ahmedabad : 702 crore for development works in Ahmedabad Corporation Area. Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has adopted the approach of allocating huge amount under Swarnim Jyanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana for various public interest development works including infrastructure development as well as social infrastructure development in towns and metros of the state. For this purpose, the Chief Minister has decided to allocate Rs. 702 crore to the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation for such development works. As per this decision of Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, under the Golden Jubilee of Chief Minister Urban Development Scheme, Rs. 354.80 crore has been allocated. These works include road resurface and micro surfacing works, storm water drainage and sewage treatment plant, water supply, fire equipment and Sola village lake development. The Chief Minister has allocated for social infrastructure development works in Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation area.
Not only that, the Chief Minister has sanctioned Rs. 8 crore for two railway overbridges and one railway underbridge. Vijay Rupani has also decided to allocate Rs 50 crore for 21 road works under the Mukhyamantri Shaheri Sadak Yojana. The Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana has been started since the golden jubilee year of the establishment of the state to facilitate the metros and towns of Gujarat with public welfare works. The main objective of this scheme is to enhance the well-being of urban public life by accelerating public works from physical-social infrastructure development works in towns and cities. For this purpose, the state government has sanctioned Rs. 1555 crore for such infrastructure development works in eight metros in the year 2021. For Ahmedabad Rs. 556 crore, for Surat Rs. 470 crore, 176 crore for Vadodara, Rs. 140 crore and for Bhavnagar, Jamnagar, Junagadh and Gandhinagar Rs. Rs 65 crore, Rs 62 crore, Rs 32 crore and Rs 32 crore have been sanctioned and paid to the metros. Under the Mukhyamantri Shaheri Sadak Yojana, a provision of Rs. 300 crore has been made for road works in the municipal-municipal areas of the state. Out of this amount, Rs. 200 crore has been sanctioned for 8 metros in the year 2021. The huge amount allotted by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani with the objective of making the towns and metropolises of the state more vital and comprehensive public interest facility will give a new impetus to the development works.
