Kevadiya (Narmada) : “Fortunately I could visit this pilgrimage” : CEC. The country’s Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora today with Additional Chief Secretary of Gujarat Forest Department and Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Ltd. Dr. Rajiv Gupta, Managing Director in-charge, arrived at Kevadia Helipad by helicopter from Ahmedabad during his tour of Gujarat. Vadodara District Collector and District Election Officer Shalini Agarwal, Narmada District Collector in charge and District Election Officer HK Vyas, District Development Officer in charge LM Dindor and District Superintendent of Police Himkar Singh gave Arora a warm welcome. Arora was accompanied by Deputy Election Commissioner Chandrabhushan Kumar, PIB Additional Director General at the Central Election Commission Shefali Sharan and Gujarat Chief Electoral Officer Dr Murli Krishna. The Chief Election Commissioner of the country, Sunil Arora, on the occasion of his visit to the Statue of Unity today, bowed his head with great respect and reverence and paid homage to Sardar Saheb. He then visited the various attractions of the tourist place Kevadia. Expressing the feeling that this is not a statue, but a miracle of architecture, Arora said that due to this, this place has become a pilgrimage place and it is possible for me and fortunately I got a chance to visit such a place only with the grace of God and good fortune.
“The natural beauty here is also amazing,” he said. Recalling that the statue was conceived in 2009, he said, “This is the tallest statue in the world.” This is the statue of the great man who united India. He recalled the recent reading of a compiled book of letters written by various dignitaries to Sardar Saheb between 1945 to 1950, saying that he was indeed an icon of hard work. The place is more spectacular than I imagined, ”added the country’s Chief Election Commissioner, Arora. During the visit, the country’s Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora also visited places like Arogya van, Jungle safari Park, Ekta Nursery, Ekta Mall etc. at Kevadia and was very impressed. Additional Chief Secretary of Gujarat Forest Department and Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Ltd. Dr. Rajiv Gupta, Managing Director in-charge of NA, briefed him on the details of various places during the visit. During the visit, Sunil Arora discussed with Chief Electoral Officer of Gujarat Dr. Murli Krishna, Collector and District Election Officer of Vadodara Shalini Agarwal, Collector in charge of Narmada and District Electoral Officer HK Vyas about population based gender ratio, final voter list based on 2021. Ratio also reviewed how many names were reduced or added in the famous voter list on January 17, 2021, after discussing election related issues like sweep activity etc.
