Gandhinagar : Gujarat will become path maker for Green Energy said, minister Saurabh Patel. Energy Minister Saurabh Patel said that Gujarat will show the way to whole country for renewable energy for the production of green energy clean energy. For this, our state government led by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel has made timely arrangements. In the evolving age, renewable energy will be the driving force for energy. Solar policy has been formulated to maximize the production of clean and green energy by gradually reducing coal based power consumption. The Minister added that due to the visionary planning and result oriented work of the then Chief Minister and present Prime Minister Narendra Modi, today Gujarat is setting new expectations in the field of renewable energy at a time when Gujarat accounts for 13% of the country’s total production. Not only this, Gujarat has also taken new steps in the field of solar energy, wind energy and has made new policies. Which will make Gujarat a global player in the field of renewable energy.
Besides, Gujarat has been ranked first in the country in installing solar roof top system. The target for the year 2020-21 was two lakh solar roof top systems and an installed capacity of 600 MW. Gujarat will become path maker for that also. Which is almost on the verge of fulfillment. Surya Gujarat Yojana will produce clean and pollution free energy. People will also get relief in electricity bills. Not only that but household electricity consumers will also be able to earn income by selling electricity in addition to their own consumption. Gujarat is currently generating 943 MW of electricity through solar rooftops. Gujarat alone accounts for 22% of the country’s solar rooftop power generation. In other words, Gujarat is also No. 1 in power generation through solar rooftops. Minister Saurabh Patel said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, 12,267 MW is being generated in Gujarat at present from wind energy, solar energy, biomass energy and other renewable energy sources. The target is to reach 20,000 MW by 2022 next year. Minister Patel added that the state government has also formulated a policy for allotment of land to GSEC for development of solar projects.
The world’s largest “Renewable Energy Park” was established in Kutch. The renewable energy park will generate 30,000 MW of energy. With an investment of Rs 1.50 lakh crore, the park will not only pave new directions for development but also protect the nation as well as the environment.
