“Future Challenges and opportunities in Public Relations”
Ahmedabad : PRSI – Ahmedabad had organized a roundtable discussion on the subbject of ‘Future Challenges and Opportunities in Public Relation industry’. It has become a focus point for today’s PR Professionals and agenices. Public Relations Society of Ahmedabad (PRSI) recently had organized a ‘Roundtable Discussion’ to discuss the role of PR and challenges being faced by PR professionals and agencies. This roundtable discussion session had brought togather Public Relation professionals from the PR industry who discussed about new opportunities in the field of Pr as well as they also fighured out some challenges which individual professional and agenicies are facing.
PR professionals had gathered in this session to explore the evolving landscape of PR in emerging digital era. The session was moderated by Mr. Nikhil Aoti, Chairman of PRSI, Ahmedabad Chapter. Mr. Nikhil also pointed out some areas where there is an impact of Digital media on PR practices. One of the members of PRSI-Ahmedabad Mr. Santosh Zokarkar very rightly pointed out about the shrinking spaces in print media and on the other side, the expectations of client is very high from an individual as well as from the agency, which he said, can be the biggest challenge in today’s time.
In today’s rapidly changing digital media and social media can be the biggest challenge as client only approach influencers and they gain popularity but the PR practice is totally different then the practice of influencers, which was pointed out by one of the members. Members also talked about how the numbers are superficial as far as social media followers are concerned and authenticity is the challenge for anyone in today’s time which can be the obstacle PR industry. Members also talked about the misconception or lack of awareness among the client about the PR practice. Members elaborated that how PR field is misconceptualized and compared with the advertising or sales sector. They said, PR is to build trust and respect among the society and consumers.
In this discussion, the members also discussed about the relevance of National and Regional PR agenices. Members also discusssed about the role of AI and other technological aspects which can influence the PR industries in today’s time. In the conclusion, everyone came at one point that the better understanding and awareness are the keys in today’s time.
