Mumbai : With more travelers choosing to explore the world alongside their pets, Skyscanner has unveiled The Pawprint Guide 2025, ranking the world’s top 10 pet-friendly cities. The report highlights a growing trend — pets are no longer just companions but an integral part of family travel.
According to Skyscanner data, the number of Indian travelers taking their pets abroad has jumped from 4% in 2024 to 11% in 2025, reflecting a strong cultural shift. This rise has been supported by countries like Italy, Japan, and Australia, which are easing restrictions and investing in pet-friendly infrastructure. Currently, 31% of hotels and accommodations on Skyscanner allow pets.
The newly launched Pawprint Guide lists destinations where pets are welcomed with open arms. New York, Nice, and Valencia top the rankings for their pet-friendly amenities, from dog-friendly beaches and parks to welcoming cafes and public transport systems.
“Pets are fast becoming a new traveler demographic,” said Mohit Joshi, Skyscanner Travel Expert. “Cities like Bengaluru and Mumbai are already making pet comfort a priority, and with The Pawprint Guide, we aim to give Indian families the confidence to travel internationally with their furry friends.”
