Gandhinagar : Aatithyam dashboard launched in Gandhinagar to boost the tourism. Minister of Tourism Mulu Bera while launching the ‘AATITHYAM’ dashboard from Gandhinagar said that Gujarat has become the first state in the entire nation to launch ‘AATITHYAM’ dashboard for real – time data of domestic and international tourists which will help to provide more employment opportunities and boost the tourism sector. The Minister said, Gujarat has fluttered in the field of tourism, 20 years ago when Gujarat was nowhere in the tourism map of India, under the guidance of the then Chief Minister of the state and current Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gujarat has filled the gap of development in the field of tourism as a result of which today Gujarat has emerged as a friendly state in the field of tourism worldwide. As part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s request to take tourism as a mission mode and under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, in the Gujarat Budget 2023-24 a provision of Rs. 2077 crore for tourism sector which is the highest till date, also an increase of 346 percentage compared to the last year’s budget.
Tourism Minister said that ‘AATITHYAM’ dashboard will not only collect information about how many tourists visited various districts of the state, tourist spots, but through this dashboard, the details of the age of tourists, domestic or international tourist, purpose of travel, number of days or nights stayed will also be available. As a result of receiving accurate statistical details, it will be easier for the Gujarat government to plan various types of schemes, develop tourist facilities and determine projects to further develop the tourist destinations. Specific information about the contribution of the tourism sector to Gujarat’s GSDP will also be available. Giving further details, the Minister said, Excellence of Gujarat, Pride of Gujarat and Development of Gujarat this confluence of three things is the hallmark of Gujarat’s dignity. Gujarat has taken many new initiatives in the tourism sector. Gujarat has given the country a new concept of tourism policy and heritage tourism policy. Not only that, Because of Home stay policy employment opportunities has increased in rural areas. The tourism sector has provided a new impetus to the economy of the state.
The Minister congratulated everyone for the new dashboard and also said that Gujarat government is creating abundant employment opportunities through various initiatives under ‘Vocal for Local’. Additional Secretary Union Ministry of Tourism, Rakesh Verma while addressing virtually congratulated everyone for creating such a data gathering dashboard to boost the tourism sector. With this real-time data, better facilities will be available to the tourists along with the development of the tourism industry. He added that this initiative would prove to be a role model for other states. Tourism Secretary Hareet Shukla said, As part of giving special priority to tourism, the Gujarat government has increased the current year’s budget by approximately three times, as a result of which new employment opportunities will be created along with the development of the tourism sector. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called upon tourism to be taken as a mission mode and emphasized on making maximum use of technology and digitization in it. The dashboard provides details of 24 destinations in spiritual tourism, 45 in leisure tourism, 18 in heritage tourism and 22 in business tourism. Details of domestic and foreign tourists who have visited various tourist destinations in Gujarat in the last one year are available on the dashboard. Real time data will help in formulating tourism policy and increase employment in this sector.
