Gandhinagar : Achievement of Gujarat in Corona Vaccination. Under the guidance of Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel, Gujarat has intensified its Corona vaccination campaign and has so far achieved more than 45 million vaccination doses. Out of a total of 4 crore 8 lakh 20 thousand 404 people in the state who are eligible for vaccination above the age of 18 years, so far 2 lakh 456 thousand first dose and 35 lakh 4 thousand 525 second dose have been vaccinated. Despite giving more than 5.31 lakh vaccination doses in a single day across the state on Thursday, the highest number of vaccination doses has been given in a single day in the state, that is an achievement for the state. The vaccination program was started in the entire state from January 15, 2021 in the presence of Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel. Out of 4 crore 93 lakh 20 thousand 903 people who are eligible for vaccination, health care workers were vaccinated in the first phase in which a total of 6,22,949 have been given first dose and 5,10,673 health care workers have been given second dose so far. Gujarat is the first state in the country to start vaccinating front line workers. Vaccination of front line workers was started across the state from January 31, 2021 in which a total of 13,42,611 front line workers have been given first dose and 10,05,640 have been given second dose. After that, from March 1, 2021, vaccination was started for citizens above 60 years of age and those with other diseases between the ages of 45 to 59 years.
From April 1, 2021, vaccination of covid-19 has been started to all persons above 45 years of age. In which the first dose has been given to a total of 1,25,26,372 people of the state above the age of 45 years and the second dose has been given to 62,45,766 persons. Gujarat State Establishment Day Vaccination operation for 18-44 year old age group in 7 corporations and 3 districts of the state from 1st May 2021 and Vaccination in this age group has been started in all the districts and corporations of the state from June 4, 2021.
