Gandhinagar : Awareness campaign ‘Cyber Safe Mission’ launched by chief minister Bhupendra Patel. This campaign has been initiated by Crime Branch, Ahmedabad. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel today launched the awareness campaign “Cyber Safe Mission” initiated by the Crime Branch of Ahmedabad City Police. He clearly stated that Gujarat Police is ready to crack down crimes including cyber crime by making maximum use of the latest technology and equipment. In this regard, CM said that instead of investigating the crime and reaching out to the culprits, the police force has now developed pro-active policing skills in line with the new generation and technology. CM said that the present generation is of mobile and internet and with its increasing prevalence, cyber criminals are also committing such crimes on a large scale,this cyber safe mission will become a competent means in raising public awareness against such crimes in the society. He said that the government has undertaken the use and planning of modern technology in such a way that the citizens have to go through the least difficulties. In this regard, Patel said under the visionary leadership of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi GoG has made efforts to connect the last men of the state with the development of modern technology.A mass movement needs to be formed to stop people from falling victim to cyber crime, the more the people will be informed the more they will be safe. CM also released “Cyber Safe Girl” book written by Dr. Anant Prabhu guiding the women of the state on cyber security as well launched www.cybersafeahmedabad.org website providing information on cyber crimes, various hacking activities by R.L.Narasimha Rao.

In addition, a debate competition was organized by Gujarat Police for students on various social media platforms on the topic of youth and cyber security in the current cyber world.3 winners of this competition were honored by CM. The winners of the hackathon organized by Gujarat Police to create awareness among school-college students against cyber hacking and cyber fraud were honored by the Chief Minister. Minister of State for Home Department Harsh Sanghvi congratulated the Gujarat Police for initiating the Cyber Safe Mission and launching various projects under it. He said that state government is eager to make adequate financial provision for the police force with a solid plan to curb cyber crime. In this regard, Sanghvi said that under the Cyber ​​AASHVAST Project launched by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in the year 2020, units equipped with state-of-the-art technology have been started in the state,with the help of this unit, the state police have achieved great success in curbing crimes and complaints related to cyber activities of citizens.Gujarat has become the first state in the country to set up such a unit. Intensive efforts are being made by the Gujarat Police to resolve even the smallest complaints of the citizens of the state, under the Cyber Safe Mission program, the lost and stolen mobiles of more than 400 citizens of Ahmedabad city have been traced and handed over. Citing the sensitivity of CM in this regard, Sanghvi said that Chief Minister is keen to take the issue of lost or stolen mobiles of the citizens of the state to such cyber safe missions and return the phones to the citizens and ensure their safety. Education Minister Jitubhai Vaghani lauded the efforts of Gujarat Police to curb cyber crimes with modernization and said that Gujarat Police is doing its best for the security of the citizens of the state with its conscientiousness. He congratulated all the police personnel of Gujarat for their contribution in maintaining the image of Gujarat as a secure state.
