Ahmedabad : Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi. Prime Minister Narendra Bhai Modi inaugurated the nationwide celebrations of 75 years of independence of the country – Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav from Sabarmati Ashram, which is the main focal point of the freedom movement. On this occasion, Pm Modi said, this nectar festival is expected to be an elixir of inspiration for freedom fighters, new ideas, new resolutions and the building of a new India for 130 crore Indians. The Prime Minister inaugurated the various programs organized under the Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav across the country for 75 weeks till the next Independence Day on 15th August 2022 by initiating the Dandi Yatra from Ahmedabad Sabarmati Ashram to Dandi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the nationwide celebrations from the world famous Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad with the noble intention of instilling patriotism and public consciousness in the people of the country on the occasion of completion of 9 decades of Dandi Yatra and 75 years of independence.”We are all witnessing the historic period of independent India,” he said. We are all seeing history being made on the anniversary of the Dandi Yatra and the beginning of the nectar festival of India’s independence. Referring to Cellular Jail, Mumbai’s August Kranti Maidan, historic places like Jhaliyawala Bagh and freedom fighters like Rani Laxmibai, Subhash Chandra Bose, Veer Savarkar, the Prime Minister said, on this day, freedom struggles, holy souls and holy pilgrimages have gathered in our memory. Today, the historic struggle, energy and sacrifice of India’s independence has been revived across the country, he added. The Prime Minister paid homage and saluted at the feet of the heroes, who sacrificed their lives in the freedom struggle and led the freedom struggle. He also expressed his gratitude to the martyred heroes who laid down their lives on the borders of the defense of ‘Azad Bharat’ and the immortal leaders who laid the bricks of progress of ‘Azad Bharat’ one by one. Referring to the five pillars of Freedom Struggle, Ideas, Achievement, Action and Resolutions, the Prime Minister said that these pillars would provide inspiration and guidance to the country throughout the celebrations.
The Prime Minister said that the Dandi Yatra was a journey that would broaden India’s freedom struggle and expose India’s basic nature, values and vision to the world. He further added that, In India, salt is a symbol of honesty, loyalty and trust, salt is a symbol of labor and equality, salt is a symbol of self-reliance. The Prime Minister said that every event of the freedom struggle, there is an unprecedented saga behind the movement. In this freedom struggle, the consciousness of Ram Yuga, Shivaji, Pratap’s manifestation of national spirit are reflected. Many milestones like the 1857th War, Gandhiji’s return home, Tilak’s demand for self-government, the proclamation to leave India had inspired the masses of Indians to fight for freedom. An audio-visual film was released on the occasion of Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav. Then the song “Tuz Se Hi To Zinda Ho O Mere Hindustan” was performed live by the country’s famous singer Jubin Noutial. On this occasion, Governor of Gujarat Acharya Devvrat, Member of Lok Sabha and State President of Gujarat BJP C. R. Patil, the newly appointed Mayor of Ahmedabad city Kirit Parmar, Trustee of Sabarmati Ashram Kartikeya Sarabhai, Amrut Modi were present.
