Gandhinagar : On the occasion of entering into the fifth successful year of his ruling, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani today made e-launching of Rs. 5,300-crore multipurpose ‘Bhadbhut Yojana’, in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel, through a video conference from Gandhinagar. The Chief Minister expressed confidence that to make Gujarat the best of the best and a “Water Surplus” and “Self-Reliant in Water” state with usage of modern technology this scheme as a world class iconic project would establish Gujarat on the world’s Water Project Map. CM Rupani further stated that such projects would make Gujarat a model state. The Bhadbhut Yojna would supply drinking water to the cities such as Bharuch, Ankleshwar, and others which are located on the banks of Narmada River. Besides this, the project would also supply water to the industry and farm sector for irrigation. In addition to these, the project would also prevent spreading of salinity in these areas. The tenders for this project have been sanctioned with foolproof transparency along with all-round reviewing of all the technical aspects. The project would supply 21,000 MCFT water and with building up of a six lane highway it would also reduce the distance between Hazira and Dahej by 18 km. It would also enhance the fishing, he added. Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel said that the project would end the problem of potable water being faced by the cities located on the banks of Narmada River. Over 4-crore people of the state are being benefited with Narmada waters and also millions of hectare of land is getting water for irrigation. The project is result of the foresight of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he added. The event was also graced by Ishwarsinh Patel – Minister of State for Cooperation, Member of Parliament Mansukh Vasava, and MLAs.
