Bhavnagar : Bhavnagar will get cancer care and research institute. Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani is to gift developmental works of urban public welfare and health facilities worth Rs. 70 crores to city metropolis on Tuesday, 20th June. The Chief Minister will inaugurate Bhavnagar Cancer Care and Research Institute run by Gujarat Cancer Research Institute at Sir Takhtsinhji Hospital in Bhavnagar in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel. This Cancer Care and Research Institute is set up in Bhavnagar so that people from Saurashtra, especially Bhavnagar, Botad and Amerli districts do not have to travel to Ahmedabad for the treatment of as complex a disease as cancer. An MoU with Gujarat Cancer and Research Institute, Ahmedabad has been done by the state government for this purpose. Cancer Care and Research Institute, equipped with state-of-the-art treatment machinery, has been set up at a cost of Rs. 32.11 crore at Sir Takhtsinhji Hospital in the city. CM will reach Bhavnagar on 20th July, Tuesday, at 10 am and will present other development works to Bhavnagar metropolis including this institute.
CM Vijay Rupani will also dedicate 292 houses constructed at a cost of Rs. 18.88 crore under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. He will also hand over the keys of houses to some of the beneficiaries. On this occasion, Minister of State for Women and Child Welfare and Education Vibhavari Dave, Minister of State for Fisheries Parshottam Solanki, and MLAs Jitu Vaghani, Atmaram Parmar, Keshubhai Nakrani, R. C. Makwana, Bhikhabhai Baraiya and Kanu Baraiya will also be present. Under the ‘Amrut’ scheme at Nari in metropolis, CM will also dedicate five MLD water treatment plants constructed at a cost of Rs. 5.27 crore. Not only that, CM will also initiate the works of the lake construction at a cost of Rs. 2.25 crore under city beautification in Nari village under Swarnim Jayanti Mukhya Mantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana and CC road construction at a cost of Rs. 10.99 crore from Dukhi Shyam Bapa Circle toward Adhewada till Bhavnagar Municipal Corporation limit. Bhavnagar Mayor Kirtibala Danidhariya, District Panchayat President Bharatsinh Gohil are also going to join the occasion.
