Rajpipla : Birsa Munda Tribal University to be constructed at Rajpipla. On the occasion of the successful completion of five years of good governance of the state government under the leadership of Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani & Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel, the ninth day of celebration of “Panch Varsh Apni Sarkarna- Sauna Sath Sauna Vikas na”, has been observed as “Vishwa Adiwasi Divas” for the holistic development of Tribal area of from Ambaji to Umragam. CM gifted 289 developmental works worth Rs. 1700 crores in 53 tribal talukas of the state on the occasion of World Tribal Day from Rajpipla in Narmada district today. He said that in the last five years, our government has made all efforts for the all-round development of Gujarat by implementing various schemes for the overall development of every sector and section of the society. Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi has strengthened the foundation of development of Gujarat. Our government has not made false promises to the tribals, but through concrete implementation of ambitious schemes like Vanbandhu Kalyan, has brought the tribals into the mainstream in a balanced and proper development of the tribal areas. Under Vanbandhu Kalyan Yojana, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had started development works worth Rs. 90,000 crores for the overall development of the tribal community in Gujarat. In the last five years, development works worth Rs. 60,000 crore have been done in the tribal areas of the state. He added that development works worth Rs. 1 lakh crore would be undertaken in the tribal areas of the state in the next five years under Vanbandhu Kalyan Yojana Phase-II.
CM Rupani laid foundation stone of Birsa Munda Tribal University to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 341 crores in an area of 39 acres at Jitnagar near Rajpipla. He dedicated 199 development works of worth Rs. 480 crores and laid foundation stones of 90 works of worth Rs. 1222 crores in tribal areas. He distributed benefits of Rs. 80 crore under the pre-matric scholarship scheme to an estimated five lakh students and distributed benefits worth Rs 85 crore to more than 23000 beneficiaries including Halpati and Personnel Housing Scheme, Dhiran Yojana, Manav Garima Yojana, Van Dhan Vikas Yojana, Krishi Kit Vitran Yojana, Forest Rights Act and Medical Assistance Scheme for Sickle Cell and TB patients.
CM Rupani said that under the Forest Rights Act, 14 thousand claims of forest land have been sanctioned to the tribals and 46 thousand hectares of land rights have been given to the tribals. Have also given approval to start five medical colleges in tribal areas of the state for tribal youth to become doctors. He also gave a detailed outline of various development works done by the state government for the welfare of the tribals in the tribal areas. Wishing the tribals on the World Tribal Day, CM said that the tribals living in the forests and hills have also made a unique contribution in the freedom struggle of the country.The stories of sacrifice, dedication and sacrifice of many tribal grandsons in the freedom struggle inspire us today. Stating that the tribals of Gujarat have never backed down for the independence of the country, the Chief Minister added that whether it is the protection of the Somnath temple or the freedom struggle of 1857.He recalled that more than 1500 tribals had sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the motherland and the country.
Birsa Munda, a tribal hero, fought for the independence of the country by involving the tribals in the country’s freedom struggle. CM expressed confidence that a Tribal University has been started in Gujarat with his name which will be a blessing for the careers of the tribal youth. Minister for Tribal Development Ganpatsinh Vasava wishing 90 lakh tribals living in 53 talukas of 14 districts of the eastern belt of the state from Ambaji to Umargam on the occasion of World Tribal Day said that today is going to be a historic and memorable day for the tribal community. Tribal University has been named after Birsa Munda, a tribal leader in an area of 39 acres in Rajpipla for the bright future of the students of the tribal community. As a result, tribal youth will get higher education opportunities at door step. Chief Secretary Anil Mukim, Chief Principal Secretary to CM K.
