Karai : Celebration of Police Commemoration Day at Karai Police Academy. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Minister of State for Home Department Harsh Sanghvi today paid tribute to all police personnel who have lost lives in the line of duty as a part of celebration of “Police Commemoration Day” at Karai Police Academy. CM Patel said that, the police and the security forces, who are always on toes for nation and state have truly awakened the sense of duty of the ‘National First’.  They are always committed to protect the nation and property. They have sacrificed their lives for the country-state without caring for their own lives and without even worrying about the home family. The CM said that there are no words to pay homage to such heroic police personnel.Police force deployed on duty day and night continue to perform their duties. Not only that, even during the global pandemic like Corona, the police force has served as Corona Warriors. At time when people were afraid to move out of their houses these personnel performed duties as front line warriors. The Chief Minister also paid heartfelt tributes to several police personnel of the state who have lost their lives due to Corona infection. State Government is always with the families of police personnel’s who have lost their loved ones. Minister of State for Home Department paying tributes on the occasion of “Police Commemoration Day” to the martyred police personnel from all over the country, including Gujarat said that,sacrifice of police personnel for the security of the nation and society will always be remembered. The Khaki uniform is not just piece of cloth but a symbol of strength. They have performed their duties 24/07 on toes at the risk of their own lives during Covid-19 pandemic. It should be the matter of celebration.

Paying homage minister Sanghvi said that they not only performed their duties maintain law and order but also supported the orphans and the elderly people.The ‘She’ team, an innovative initiative of Gujarat Police, is always ready to protect and help the women’s. Out of 149 jawans of Gujarat Police who lost their lives while on duty during Covid-19, financial assistance has been paid by the state government to the families of 121 jawans. The Minister of State for Home Department also assured all necessary help to the families of the deceased Corona Warriors, adding that the concerned officers have also been instructed to pay immediate assistance to the families of the remaining jawans. The Chief Minister and the Minister of State for Home Department met the families of the veteran police personnel in person and sent condolences.He also expressed his gratitude to the 377 police personnel who have lost lives in the line of duty across the country during the year. Director General of Police Ashish Bhatia, Additional Director Generals of Police, Inspectors General of Police, Superintendents and officers were present on the occasion. A two-minute silence was observed to pay tribute to deceased police personnel’s. Dignitaries present, including the Chief Minister, made generous contributions for the families of the martyred police personnel.
