Ahmedabad : The CII Gujarat Logistics & Supply Chain Management Summit 2026 concluded with strong emphasis on integration, innovation and infrastructure to strengthen Gujarat’s position as India’s leading logistics hub. The summit brought together policymakers, port operators, logistics companies and industry leaders. Such dignitaries discussed supply chain efficiency, digital transformation and sustainable growth.

Experts highlighted Gujarat’s strategic importance in global trade and called for stronger coordination between infrastructure, technology and policy.

Industry Leaders Call for Integration and Digital Adoption

Mr. Girish Aggarwal, Convenor of the CII Gujarat Logistics & Supply Chain Taskforce, opened the summit with welcome note. He stressed the need for resilient supply chains. He noted that global logistics shifts demand faster integration between ports, transport networks and warehouses.

Mr. Achal Bakeri, Vice Chairman of CII Gujarat State Council, outlined three priorities for the sector — integration across logistics networks, adoption of digital technologies and strategic infrastructure investments. He emphasized that data-driven logistics systems will improve efficiency and competitiveness.

Importance of port-led growth and infrastructure development in strengthening Gujarat’s logistics ecosystem is surely there. Recent government initiatives and budgetary allocations are moving in the right direction and are creating a positive environment for trade and logistics expansion. Improvements in export infrastructure, enhanced connectivity and policy support have significantly strengthened export facilities, resulting in increased export activity and improved competitiveness for Indian businesses in global markets.

Speakers highlighted Gujarat’s strong maritime advantage and expanding logistics ecosystem. Mr Paras Desai from Wagh Bakri Tea Group pointed to opportunities to increase cargo movement through Gujarat’s ports by improving connectivity and operational convenience.

Mr. Upparapalli Venkat Rao, CEO & Director of Essar Ports, stressed the importance of integrated multimodal logistics systems. He highlighted technology adoption, sustainability practices and operational resilience as essential for future-ready ports.

The growing importance of public–private collaboration in strengthening supply chain and logistics infrastructure. I believe that effective partnerships between government bodies and private industry can accelerate infrastructure development, improve operational efficiency, and enable faster adoption of technology. I also can say that, collaborative planning and shared investments are essential to building resilient, future-ready logistics ecosystems that support sustainable economic growth.
