Gandhinagar : With a view to further promote ‘Green Energy’ in state; Chief Minister Mr. Vijaybhai Rupani has cleared proposals for installation of solar plants, at a total cost of Rs. 13.61-crore, to use solar energy for as many as 15 water treatment plant and/or sewage plants of 11 nagarpalikas. These solar plants would approximately generate 2,835k.w power. The generated solar energy would also make saving worth of Rs. 2.94-Cr in the electricity bills. These eleven nagarpalikas are: Bardoli, Umargam, Botad, Songadh, Vijalpore, Ankleshwar, Jambusar, Navsari, Vyra, Unjha, and Surendranagar. With this Under the Chief Minister Urban Road Scheme (CMURS), Chief Minister Mr. Vijaybhai Rupani today sanctioned Rs. 79.74-cr for 519 road works of Surat Municipal Corporation. The sanctioned works included, Rs. 19.10-Cr for carpet works on 97 road, Rs. 57.35-Cr for re-carpet works on 396 roads, and 26 works worth Rs. 3.29-Cr for widening existing roads or making new roads with footpaths. The sanctioning of these works of Surat Municipal Corporation would benefit the citizens of Varachha, Athwa, Rander, Limbayat, Udhna, Katargam and other areas of the city and would also increase civic amenities.
