Rajkot : Decisions taken in the high power committee meeting chaired by chief minister Vijay Rupani. Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has taken an important decision to set up a temporary 100-bed Covid Hospital using the Smt. Manuben Dhebar Sanatorium next to PDU Medical College Hospital in Rajkot. In the possible third wave of coronavirus, this temporary 100-bed hospital will be useful for the treatment of COVID-19 patients. CM Vijay Rupani, in a meeting held in Gandhinagar today, has taken decisions to form a High-Power Committee to set up a 400-bed hospital on a permanent basis as a long-term plan by handing over the land of this sanatorium with an area of 3670 square meters to the health department. This hospital will enhance the bed facilities of the existing PDU hospital and provide better treatment facilities to the patients. CM Rupani has taken this decision with a sensible approach that currently Smt. Manuben Dhebar Sanatorium is in a dilapidated and unusable condition and it should be used for the enhancement of public health facilities. In this high-level meeting, the Chief Minister has also taken another important decision that the historic Shri Karan Sinhji High School as well as Bai Saheb Ba Girls High School of Rajkot will be renovated for educational purposes while maintaining its original structure. It was decided in the meeting to renovate and upgrade this historic school in Rajkot on PPP basis
These schools are presently functioning in their old structures and as a Government Boys School, Shri Karan Sinhji High School has 244 students studying in Std. 9 to 12 and Bai Saheb Ba Girls High School has 330 girl students studying in Std. 9 to 12. The Chief Minister has also given approval for the development works like gardens, gates etc. on the land of Shri Balaji Hanuman Temple which has been in this campus for years. Renovation of Shri Karan Sinhji High School and Bai Saheb Ba High School on PPP basis will also lead to increase in the number of students and the facilities including grounds will also be more comprehensive. In this high-level meeting Additional Chief Secretary of Revenue, Additional Chief Secretary of Urban Development Mukesh Puri, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister M. K. Das, Chief Minister’s Secretary Ashwini Kumar, NHM’s MD Remya Mohan, Rajkot District Collector, Municipal Commissioner as well as other leaders Nitin Bhardwaj, Madhanta Sinh and saints of Swaminarayan sect also joined.
