Vadodara : An exhibition was inaugurated at Fine Arts faculty of MS University on the theme “150 Years of celebrating the Mahatma” by District Collector Shrimati Shalini Agrawal, where paintings of Mahatma Gandhi were displayed by the Indian and African artists, which they contributed the theme to Father of the Nation on the account of 150 years of his birth anniversary. The paintings displayed here were part of the International Gandhi Art Camp, Saputara 2019, organized by E-imagination designs, Vadodara, with the support of Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Ltd. to pay tribute to the Father of the Nation on the special occasion of 150th birth anniversary Mahatma Gandhi celebrations during Paryatan Parva 2019 at Saputara.

The Indian as well as the African artists tried to sculpture Gandhiji and his journey ‘Mohan to Mahatma’ on paper. They made use of acrylic colours as well as oil paints on canvas to make paintings look lively. To make the event look more live they invited Deepak Antani, who dressed up and look alike Gandhiji and said that he is working since 15 years in theatres, short films, as well as films on Mahatma Gandhi and his principles and beliefs. He further added that during this period of time Gandiji as well his lifestyle has left a lot of influence on his life. Collector Mrs Shalini Agrawal, who inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp, addressed the function by saying that, “Gandhiji’s principles and beliefs are immortal, and on the occasion of celebration of 150th birth anniversary of respected Bapu, his principles of truth and non-violence will always be eternal.” She also added that Vadodara is city of arts and culture which has always appreciated and welcomed known –unknown artists and further appreciated the exhibition held. She also insisted everyone to follow Gandhian principle of cleanliness and support ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Campain’ initiated by Prime Minister. She also motivated everyone to walk on one of the profound principles of Mahatma Gandhi and that is, “Be the change that you wish to see in the world.
