Morbi : Garib Kalyan Mela is to bring poor out of poverty said, Chief minister. On the second day of the 12th edition of the Garib Kalyan Mela organized in Morbi Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said that, for bringing out the poor from the curse of poverty, Garib Kalyan Mela has proved to be a boon for economic empowerment of the poor. In this regard Chief Minister said that, since 2009-2010 Prime Minister Narendra Modi through Garib Kalyan Mela has given us a new approach to provide benefits and assistance to the impoverished and needy people. So far, the government has provided assistance of over Rs. 26,000 crore to 1 crore 47 lakh people through 1530 Garib Klayan Mela’s through 11 editions. Under this Garib Kalyan Mela held in Morbi, 1721 beneficiaries were given a grant/ assistance of Rs. 3.40 crore. CM Patel also said that the state government has also ensured that the equipment provided in the Garib Kalyan Mela are of good quality. With the feeling of pride Chief Minister said that, the best example of a self-reliant India is the vaccination of 175 crore doses to combat COVID- 19 to its citizens. Gujarat has also been vaccinated with 10 crore doses which has enabled us to successfully cope with the third wave. Referring to the advance planning of the state government, the Chief Minister said that the government has established foresight by setting up a separate department for climate change in Gujarat under the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Chief Minister hoped that the participation of the citizens of the state would prove to be a vital factor in the development of the state and through that self-reliant Gujarat would lead to the realization of self-reliant India.
In the celebrations taking place in every district of the state under “Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav”, the Chief Minister expressed his desire to take India to the highest place in the 100th year of independence by making the citizens aware of the historical heritage. Chief Minister also elaborated on the steps being taken by the state government to promote natural farming in his speech and added that the state government was inventing state-of-the-art technology in the field of agriculture by spraying medicine through drones for the farmers of the state. On this occasion Chief Minister also said that state government is also considering buying organic agricultural products at higher prices to encourage natural farming. Minister of state for Panchayats Brijesh Merja said that, State Government is working with the spirit of togetherness and organizing fairs for the welfare of the poor. He further said that, the far-reaching results of such fairs will be passed on to the next generation and Gujarat will be at the forefront of development.
