New Delhi : The ‘Best Agricultural Award’ was given to the Gujarat State in New Delhi at the ‘Global Agriculture Leadership Summit and Leadership Award-2018’ program organized by ‘Indian Council of Food and Agriculture’ New Delhi. On behalf of the state of Gujarat, this award was accepted by R.C.Faldu, Agriculture Minister, Sanjay Prasad, Additional Chief Secretary (Agriculture) and Bharat Modi, from the Union Home Minister, Mr. Rajnath Singh.
In the process of selection of the Global Agriculture Leadership Award sponsored by the Indian Council of Food and Agriculture, the process of Green Revolution, in the chairmanhip of Prof. M.S. Swaminathan, the jury selected for the 'Best Agriculture State' award for the state.
Gujarat has always been a pioneer in adopting new dimensions in the field of agriculture and introducing new initiatives. Gujarat State has achieved many successes in the field of agriculture, adopting various approaches in the field of agriculture.
Gujarat State has indicated a new direction through Krishi Mahotsav, Soil Health Card, Water Accumulation, Micro Irrigation, Horticulture, Post Harvest Management, Dairy and Animal Husbandry. In the last two to three years, Gujarat has remained committed to adopt new technologies in the field of agriculture and to sustain the development of agriculture. Cotton is an important crop of the state and has a significant contribution to the state's agricultural income. In the last few years the cotton hazard, which was resistant to cotton bowl in front of cotton, came as a new threat to cotton, but due to this, the state's department adopted a coordinated approach to control the expansion and control of pink creepers, which successfully achieved and also successful control of the pink creepers. Gujarat has always been a leader in providing new technology.
