Gandhinagar : Gujarat state road safety awards distributed in the presence of Transport minister R.C.Faldu. Transport Minister RC Faldu said that the state government has made a firm and timely plan to realize the goal of ‘Safe and Secure Gujarat’. While the state government is constantly concerned about the reduction in the number of vehicle accidents in the state and is making continuous efforts to move in that direction, it is also necessary for the citizens in this field to give proper cooperation by raising public awareness. Road safety is a priority of the state government. He added that the state government was deeply concerned over the tragic deaths in road accidents. Presenting the Gujarat State Road Safety Award at the Gujarat State Road Safety Council meeting at Gandhinagar to 6 winners in 4 different categories of 2020-21, Minister Faldu said that he had instructed all department heads to take more intensive steps to prevent recurrence of vehicle accidents. . He added that efforts should be started from primary school to create awareness for the prevention of vehicle accidents. Increased speed and erratic driving increases the likelihood of accidents, so drivers need to be properly trained in road safety. Various webinars have been organized in schools and colleges to create awareness regarding vehicle accident prevention and it has been decided to train school and college school van drivers in the near future. Thus, the Minister also reviewed the work done to create public awareness regarding vehicle accident prevention from the student level.
Minister of State for Transport Ishwar Patel said that the condition of roads in the state is very good. While the number of vehicles has also increased due to the economic development of the state, the government’s aim is to reduce the number of road accidents and deaths. Various measures have been taken by the State Traffic Branch to further improve traffic enforcement and traffic regulation across the state. In order to reduce the number of accidents, the road building department, R.T.O. and various teams have been formed across the state by the police department. Through which continuous monitoring is also being done. He further added that the state government has achieved maximum success in achieving the target set by the Supreme Court to reduce the number of vehicle accidents. The Gujarat State Road Safety Award for the year 2020-21 has been distributed by the dignitaries in which voluntary individuals, organizations and City-District Road Safety Committee have been included in three categories. JV Shah, Dr. Pravinchandra K on the first and second place in the category of voluntary persons respectively. All Gujarat Institute of Driving Technical Training & Research ranked first, second and third in the institute category respectively. Vadodara, L&T Rajkot Vadinar Toll Way Ltd. Jamnagar and JP Research India Private LTD, Ahmedabad while City Road Safety Committee Surat City, City Road Safety Committee Ahmedabad City and City Road Safety Committee Rajkot City were awarded first, second and third place respectively in City and District Road Safety Committee category.
