Gandhinagar : To create best Health Infrastructure, chief minister Vijay Rupani has said that the state government is setting up systems in hospitals to make the health infrastructure more sophisticated by reversing the current situation in the state. In this regard, he lauded the successful efforts of Guru Gobind Singh Hospital, Jamnagar, with a state-of-the-art cancer treatment machine, X-ray machine, Plasma Bank, including a dedicated Covid Hospital with 22 beds. The Chief Minister inaugurated these innovative projects at Guru Gobind Singh Hospital, Jamnagar by video conference from Gandhinagar in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel and Minister of State for Health Kishore Kanani. Under these projects, Vijay Rupani has built a 24-bed Covid Hospital with ICU and 21 oxygenated beds, Linear accelerator machine as well as city simulator installed at a cost of Rs. 26 crore. The state-of-the-art X-ray machine installed at a cost of Rs 1 crore and the state’s second largest plasma bank were inaugurated. The Chief Minister expressed confidence that these innovative facilities would be especially useful in providing modern treatment to the people in the rural areas of Porbandar,
He said that usually Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 2 lakh is spent for treatment of diseases like cancer in private-corporate hospitals but the state government provides such modern treatment free of cost keeping in view the health and well-being of all. The Chief Minister said that major state-of-the-art hospitals in the state, including Guru Gobind Singh Hospital in Jamnagar, are now being developed as Medicity. He added that state-of-the-art treatment facilities are available in such large hospitals as well as medical colleges, hostel for resident doctors, P.G. Facilities like hostel, accommodation etc. are being provided in a single complex. Chief Minister Vijay Rupani also said that in the treatment of serious diseases like cancer, the state government is giving special treatment to preventive care and post operative care and is rehabilitating the cancer patients. Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel lauded the fact that this old hospital in Saurashtra-Jamnagar has become a state-of-the-art hospital by developing facilities-treatment methods when thousands of patients come daily for treatment. He expressed confidence that Covid Hospital would now be able to provide more intensive and better treatment to corona infections, adding that the hospital would continue to operate for the treatment of other diseases in the aftermath of corona.
