Gandhinagar : High level meet of covid task force experts with chief minister held in Gandhinagar today. Chief Minister Vijay Rupani had organized a high-level meeting in Gujarat as a precautionary measure to deal with the possibility of a third wave of Corona. The high level meet, chaired by Vijay Rupani, was held at the Chief Minister’s residence. The Chief Minister made it clear at the meeting that the number of cases has gradually come down in the last one week in this second wave of corona transition and the number has come down to 11,000 from the previous 15,000 cases. “We have been able to achieve this with the joint efforts of the state government, the medical sector and the public,” he said. “Now, if the third wave is likely to occur, we will have to come up with an action plan with microplanning to strengthen medical protocol, treatment, oxygen system, hospital beds and infrastructure in Gujarat,” the chief minister said in a discussion with expert doctors. Vijay Rupani said that based on the first wave of corona infection control and treatment and the experience of the second wave, the treatment method we have, at least people will not get infected in the third possible wave and efforts should be made to keep the mortality rate very low. He also appealed to expert doctors to join hands with the state government in campaigning for mass vaccination in the state to protect against the third wave. The high-level meeting of the taskforce committee also discussed the epidemic of mucormycosis and its treatment. Among the members of the task force of 6 senior specialist doctors of the state, world renowned cardiologist and chairman of Apex Heart Institute Ahmedabad, Dr. Tejas Patel, Director, Institute of Public Health, Gandhinagar Dr. Dilip Mavalankar, Director, Infection Division, Zydus Hospital, Infectious Diseases Consultant and Sterling Hospital, Ahmedabad. Dr. Atul Patel, a renowned pulmonologist and critical care specialist at Sterling Hospital. Dr. Tushar Patel, Critical Care Specialist, Apollo Hospital Maharshi Desai attended the meeting and shared their experiences and suggestions on the Covid Protocol and Line of Treatment.
The doctors of this task force have been providing guidance and services to the state government on Covid Protocol, Treatment Protocol, Medicine Management etc. as required. Apart from the expert doctors of the task force, Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama, Energy Minister Saurabh Patel, Minister of State for Home Affairs Pradipsinh Jadeja, Chief Secretary Anil Mukim, Additional Chief Secretary Pankaj Kumar and M.K. Das, health secretary Dr. Jayanti Ravi, and other senior secretaries had joined.
