Gandhinagar : IMA officials committed to help government to win against the war of Corona. Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has said that the state government is making continuous efforts to increase the number of hospitals, beds and other resources in the state to fight with the increasing cases of corona. At such a time it is time for doctors from all branches of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) of the state to join the administration in the fight against the corona. Chief Minister Vijay Rupani presided over the IMA of seven major cities from Gandhinagar today. An e-meeting was held from Gandhinagar. The Chief Minister said that in the current difficult times, it is necessary for all the private doctors to provide adequate cooperation to the administration for the treatment of Corona patients. “Doctors are the commanders in the fight against the Corona pandemic and only with their help can we win this battle,” he added. The Chief Minister said that it was desirable to reserve beds for the patients of the private nursing home. “Disasters like earthquakes and floods come for a short time but we have been fighting the Corona pandemic for the last one year,” he added. In other disasters, personnel from different departments may be employed while in these health disasters, only trained health workers can provide treatment to the patient. He said that the state government is formulating a policy by assessing the next possible situation. The district administration has been allowed to make all necessary recruitments in the health sector to meet the demand for human resources. The role of the Indian Medical Association becomes equally important as the government engages health workers from all branches of the health department, such as homeopathy and ayurvedic, in the treatment of covid patients.
In an e-meetinng with IMA members today, Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel said that there is an urgent need for IMA doctors across the state to counsel and treat Corona patients directly or indirectly through technology like family doctors. We can treat a Corona patient by talking to him over the phone or via video call and advise them to be admitted to the hospital only if necessary. “Only if we play the role of family doctor can we bring Corona’s condition under control through joint efforts,” he said. We have to add this to the community service we are doing in our area and city. With our proper guidance, Corona patients will get better treatment. The burden on government hospitals will be reduced and people will be able to get better treatment at home. “If we continue to counsel corona patients in private practice as well as in government hospitals, we can save someone’s life,” he added.
