Gandhinagar : Institute of Skills to be set up under Skill India Mission, which was initiated in the meeting held in the presence of chief minister Bhupendra Patel. A tripartite meeting was held between the Government of Gujarat, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship of the Government of India and Tata IIS to establish an Indian Institute of Skills for education of youth with skills to further strengthen the Skill Ecosystem of Gujarat which is taking new dimensions in the field of skills. The three partners exchanged views on the tripartite agreement in the presence of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. Labor and Employment Minister Brijesh Merja was present on the occasion. It is important to point out that IIS-Ahmedabad has a special place in this mission of skill development. Just as the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) for the field of management and the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) for the field of technology are world famous, so too the Indian Institutes of Skills (IISs) are to be established with the approach of gaining prominence in the field of skills. In this institute students will get world class training and education with latest technology and equipment. Not only this, in order to provide the students with advanced knowledge and training about the methods and devices associated with the industries, they will also be associated with various industries. The Indian Institute of Skills-Ahmedabad is going to be set up at Nasmed in Gandhinagar with state-of-the-art infrastructural facilities for the purpose of providing state-of-the-art skills training to the youth of the state. Anju Sharma, Principal Secretary, Department of Labor and Employment; Lalit Narayansingh Sandhu, Director, Employment and Training; Government of India officials; Srinath, CFO Mehrab Irani, CEO of Tata Indian Institute of Skills Sabyasachi Das and Senior Advisor Srinivas as well as senior officials of Labor Department were also present.
