Jamnagar : Jamnagar people got first waste to energy plant. Under Swarnim Jayanti Mukhya Mantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana, GUDC,GUDM and 15th Finance Commission Grant Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel virtually inaugurated and laid foundation stone for various projects worth Rs. 214 crore from Gandhinagar. Chief Minister dedicated 128 crore works which includes newly constructed PPP base Waste to Energy Plant worth Rs. 90 crore. Under Swarnim Jayanti Mukhya Mantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana and GUDC grant two lane Dr. Baba saheb Ambedkar Railway overbridge constructed at the cost of Rs. 30 crore over LC No. 199 Railway crossing and dedicated 4 lane road connecting Hapa Marketing Yard with Nagmati River bridge constructed at the cost of Rs. 8 crore under Swarnim Jayanti Mukhya Mantri Shaheri Yojana . Also water supply works through DI pipeline at the cost of Rs. 61 crore and Asphalt road works at different places in the city at the cost of Rs. 15 crore and virtually laid foundation stone for UCHC Centre to be newly constructed at the cost of Rs. 10 crore at Hapa ,Thus in total Rs. 86 crore works foundation stone have been laid. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel virtually said that Jamnagar has taken one more step forward in the direction of development.Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi combining with efforts out in by the government the story of development has reached the multitude. Gujarat’s first ultra-modern PPP based Waste to Energy Plant in Jamnagar at the cost of Rs. 90 crore which has a capacity of 450 metric tonnes and with the help of this Waste to Energy Plant will generate 7.5 MW of electricity daily and also protect the environment.
The overbridge will not cause traffic problems. With the setting up of the world’s only Global Centre for Traditional Medicine at Gordhanpar in Jamnagar, the city with Gujarat has gained worldwide recognition. The uninterrupted development works in Jamnagar have increased the amenities for the people. Chief Minister also gave details regarding allocation of Rs. 1096 crore to Jamnagar for development under Swarnim Jayanti Mukhya Mantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana in the last 5 years. On this occasion, the Chief Minister congratulated the Jamnagar Municipal Corporation, the dignitaries present as well as the citizens. On this occasion Minister for Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Raghavji Patel said that development works are ongoing in Jamnagar. Establishment of Gujarat’s first Waste to Energy Plant in Jamnagar will reduce pollution. Also with the overbridge constructed, the population of the Air Force as well as the societies on the ring road will get direct connectivity to the city of Jamnagar. This will also save time and fuel. On this occasion Standing Committee Chairman Manish Kataria delivered welcome keynote and Mayor Beena Kothari, MLA R.C. Faldu, MLA Dharmendrasinh Jadeja addressed the gathering and Deputy Commissioner Vastani gave vote of thanks. In this program Deputy Mayor Tapan Parmar, Commissioner Vijay Kharadi etc… along with officers of Waste to Energy Plant Company, various office bearers, officers, corporators as well as a large number of citizens were present.
