Chief Minister Vijay Rupane said that many Gujaratis including Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Shyamji Krishna Verma, Madam Bhikhaji Kama have made significant contribution in the freedom struggle of India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken the initiative to celebrate the 75th year of independence as ‘Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav’ and has united the citizens through mass participation-mass movement. On the 100th anniversary of India’s independence, the Chief Minister called upon all to work together and let’s be determined to make India more self-reliant, prosperous and a superpower. The results of the national level essay competition organized by the law faculty of Gujarat Law Society-GLS College under the Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Vijay Rupani from Gandhinagar today were announced results through video conference. The Chief Minister said that Gujarat Law Society, which was started with the inspiration of Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, has once again organized an essay competition to celebrate the nectar festival of independence and has done a great job in connecting the youth of India with patriotism and nationalism. Bharat Mata Ki Jai means our country becomes Sujalam-Sufalam, becomes rich with wealthy, no one sleeps hungry, there is a home for everyone. “We are committed to eradicate poverty, unemployment and corruption from India on the occasion of the 75th year of independence,” he added.
“We have to draw inspiration from the lives of the freedom fighters, from the sacrifices they made to liberate India,” he said. That is why the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi has given the slogan of Nation First. Together we have to make the dream of a better India come true. The first winner in this essay competition was Arjun Banerjee of West Bengal National University of Judicial Sciences, the second winner was Samrudhi Rawat of Salagopal College of Law Goa, the third winner was Namita Sawant of Mumbai IIT. Chief Minister Rupani congratulated and wished them best. The President of GLS University, Dr. Sudhir Nanavati delivered the welcome address as well as the Director of the Faculty of Law, GLS University. Mayuri Pandya outlined the entire essay competition. The event was attended by students participating in the essay competition from 23 states and four Union Territories across India through video conferencing – parents and faculties of various law colleges including GLS.
