Rajkot : Lighthouse project will be implemented in the state. Prime Minister Narendra Modi today laid the foundation stone of a lighthouse project at Rajkot in Gujarat, along with six other states in the country. And the lighthouse project, built with the help of modern technology, will provide new energy in the field of housing construction like a ray of hope. In the past, Urban development did not prioritize the construction of housing which left the poor and middle class with the courage and hope to make their dream home come true. But in the last six years, the central government has been working hard to provide shelter to the homeless under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana to improve the lives of the poor and homeless. And plans have been made to achieve the target of providing affordable housing to the homeless by the next 2022. Stating that the process of change is necessary in every sector with the passage of time, the Prime Minister said that this experiment has been carried out in the direction of providing affordable and fast housing to the needy people through change in the housing sector as well. He said that in order to meet the housing needs of the people, the Global Housing Challenge has analyzed more than 30 innovative technology projects from home and abroad, out of which six different lighthouses with different technologies will be constructed. One thousand houses will be built in 12 months with this technique. Thus, a total of 6,000 houses will be constructed in six cities. The technique will then be implemented across the nation, he said. Describing the project as an incubation center, the Prime Minister said that planners, architects, engineers, structure designers as well as students in the field would gain knowledge of the new technology.
The home of the poor remains a driving force for social and economic development of poor and middle class families. To fulfill the dream of a home in the past, there was financial hardship, there was no legal protection, for this, transparency has also been ensured in housing construction and housing allocation. Not only that but the assistance available to the greedy is also credited directly to the account through bank linkage. In addition, strict enforcement of the RERA Act on land mafias has increased the security of people’s land and housing. In which so far more than 30 thousand housing projects have been registered. In view of Carona’s difficult times, a housing package of Rs 5,000 crore has been given to housing loan holders to provide relief in housing loan interest. Expressing confidence that the idea of ’Housing for All’ would bring a radical change in the lives of the poor, the Prime Minister said that the key to housing would open new doors of development and progress in their lives. Giving details about housing in the state, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said that the first day of the new year has brought a ray of hope for the poor and middle class people. The concept of cheap and affordable houses will come true in the state. Gujarat has always been at the forefront of adopting new technology.
