Gandhinagar : L&T signs MoU with Government of Gujarat for further investments in IT. The IT and ITeS (2022-27) policy announced by the state government under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel is getting a wide response. Gujarat has achieved another important success in this regard. Larsen & Toubro a renowned industry Group signed MoU with GoG (Government of Gujarat) for further investments in IT and ITeS Enabled Services Technology Park in Vadodara. The MoU was signed by the Science and Technology Department of the State Government and L&T in the presence of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and under the guidance of Science and Technology Minister Jitu Vaghani. Under IT and ITeS policy this MoU will be a landmark in further developing the state’s IT eco system with strategic partnership of various IT companies, industries in Gujarat. L&T will make an investment of Rs. 7 thousand crore in this IT park for the coming five years. Not only that, This technology park in Vadodara will provide job opportunities for two thousand engineers and other positions in a single year. L&T is planning to provide a total of 10 thousand direct and indirect proposed employment opportunities in the coming five years. Under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, the Government of Gujarat has formulated a strong policy framework and created a conducive business ecosystem in which  Incentives, opportunities for industries and IT-related operations in Gujarat  have become easy  thus a  favorable environment  has been created for start-ups.

The state government has announced the Gujarat IT/ITeS Policy (2022-27) to realize the vision of ‘self-reliant Gujarat  to self-reliant India’ in the field of information technology, as part of efforts to develop excellent IT infrastructure and create 1 lakh IT job opportunities  in the state under the direction of the Chief Minister. Minister of Science and Technology Jitu Vaghani has emphasized on continuous employment generation and skill development. This has led to enabling incentives like the Employment Generation Incentive (EGI) and Atmanirbhar Gujarat Sahay Yojana. The policy also introduces an innovative concept of CAPEX-OPEX model for the first time in the Indian IT investment promotion policy landscape. This policy has created an unparalleled attraction across the IT industry and many investors are eager to partner with the Gujarat government. In the initial 6 months of the implementation of the policy, the Gujarat government has signed MoU’s  with 13 leading local and global IT companies. Under this MoU with a proposed investment of Rs. 2400 crore, Approximately 13,750 highly skilled IT job opportunities will be created. This facility in Vadodara marks yet another milestone for the diversified business conglomerate. The MoU was signed by L&T’s CEO and managing director S.N. Subrahmanyan and secretary, Department of Science and Technology, Government of Gujarat, Vijay Nehra. Chief Principal Secretary K. Kailashnathan, Chief Secretary Pankaj Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary, Industries Rajkumar, Additional Chief Secretary to CM Pankaj Joshi were present during the MoU signing ceremony.
